Alumina, also known as aluminium oxide is an electrically insulating material with relatively high thermal conductivity fora ceramic. lt could be argued as being one of the most cost effective of all ceramic materials and as a result is one ofthe most widely used. lts combination of high thermal conductvity and low thermal expansion imparts good thermalshock resistance.
